El-cheapo electrostatic speakers

If you place some anti-static bag plastic between two perforated metal
plates and insulate to couple of kv, you have a simple electrostatic
speaker. Just find or wind a tranny to step up the audio output.

 **  You have to charge the plastic to a high voltage first  - and that bag
plastic would be about the most unsuitable diaphragm material imaginable.
