My old man bought one of those fancy new flat screen LCD monitors and the
graphics were sh#t on the resolution he chose. Thinking it was broken he
took it back to the shop and the techo advised him that most LCDs are
designed to run quality graphics on one resolution only.  He changed to this
resolution and the monitor worked fantastically.  It will work on the other
resolutions, but picture looks like something from the late 80s (EGA
quality).

Perhaps Plasmas have a similar limitation?

Cheers,
W.

What devices do you have connected to it, Furthermore what method(cable ) are
you using. S Video for example is a lot better than conmponent.
Has it ever performed satisfactorily?

Can you describe the actual setup that you have. Also what are the settings
of the monitor itself?
The NEC4200w has a native 800x480 res at millions of colours, would expect
that yours is not set correctly in the menu.
Have you asked the retailer that you purchased it from.
More info would be helpful.
